By the way, the dealer definitely did not know what They were doing, they called it a Half Dime, I also got A 1854 Half Cent there, and the dealer called it an 1845 Half Cent!

A real Half Disme would be over $10,000 in AG condition. Too good a deal to be true, aside from all other considerations.

Did the dealer tell you it was an authentic $10K+ coin, or was it simply sitting there marked $8.50? Obviously, it should be clearly marked as a copy, so I'd say "jibbed" either way, but seeing a coin for 1/1000th of the value is a red flag.

It is best to stay optimistic about these types of finds. Just because there is a low chance of something being cherrypicked doesn't exclude the possibility entirely.
But this one just seems to be a token or a counterfeit. Not genuine.

The date looks wrong. Send it to ANACS and find out.

97% counterfeit or replica, however it is one of the better replicas I've seen date is the correct position and the portrait is pretty darn close to correct as well. I'd love to see the other side, the edge, get a weight also, plus shots outside of the holder.
