Well, alrighty! If I'm understanding properly, this is DDD, recognizable because it affects the field in the direction of the closest rim, and not the letter (device) size. Like such?... (I made you a pic Coop!)

I agree, this is Die Deterioration Doubling.

It is always a good idea to show us the entire coin in one photo, then the reverse side as well. Thanks.

Sorry Spence, I was just trying to get a grip on identification and I'm not sure which coin it was. I believe it's a 2006 possibly 04, and I'm in the south so odds are on Denver.
