1997 Washington Quarter 100% Missing Clad?

Also, this quarter weighs .05 grams less which is within the typical weight range. Don't missing clad coins weight noticeably less due to the clad not being present? Thanks in advance. Second, yes that is true. It seems more likely that your coin has surface staining from chemical or environmental exposure, but an overall pic would be very helpful to confirm. Turn them Brown in color. If the color is brown, it is probably a metal detector coin. If the coin is red in color like a cent, then it is worth pursing. Note the coin on the left, the strike is weakened because of the missing cladding. Also the color it red, not brown. The one of the right is a metal detector coin.
