I'd like to get some opinions on this, I found these two together, a 1883 Chicago half and a ticket to the fair with Chicago day proceeds written on the back. Checked with the museum and the numbers jelled until a couple of days after they were turned in and more tickets had been found. Also would like to know if the dark color on the coin is toning or is it just dirty?
Thanks

Christy,

What a nice piece of history. I can only comment on your question about the half dollar. That is toning and it is beautiful. Don't do a thing to it. Any chance we can get a look at the obverse of the coin with the date?

Nice find...the coin is not too hard to find, but that ticket is quite the find! Congratulations.

Wow. That ticket is beyond our normal purview here, but it's certainly something worth pursuing because of the information written on it. Can you possibly post a pic of the other side?

The coin is readily available and a popular item among collectors. No big thing in itself, but I have the feeling that ticket might be.

Sure, love to show what I found. It was in a hidden drawer on the underside of an old desk I bought at auction along with 60 coins and 13 confederate bills! It took us awhile to find it, but you should have heard the cheering when we did!
