Hello everyone!

To complement my other post and as a means to let you all know me and my collection habits I will now post a few of my modern coins here.

The first is my beautiful baby coin, a Pinto (480 reis) from João V of Portugal, from 1741. It's very small at just 14mm and 1g, but it's one of my dearest coins, the first gold coin I ever bought (so far the only one) and I saved up for a long while to get it! I cherish it very much.

The more attentive amongst yourselves have noticed that it says 400 and not 480 but the reason is that at some point gold and silver coin values were increased by 20% due to the prices of these metals rising and they never updated the values on the coins that were struck after that, maybe as a matter of uniformity.

This one is a soldo from Venice, under Doge Alvise Mocenigo III (1722-1732)

Now another testament to the Portuguese Discoveries, this is an Atiá from Portuguese India, from 1778.

This next one is a 1/2 Scudo from the Papal States, from the Sede Vacante period of 1758. I find the coins from the sede vacante period absolutely gorgeous but I don't really have the money for the older ones. This one, luckily for me, shows signs of a mount and so it had a hefty discount, and since I don't think the solder remains detract from the coin, I took the opportunity to indulge on a coin which I wouldn't be able to afford otherwise.

Finally, an actual modern coin from the actual modern period. I love modern Italian coins, I find their designs very good, to me they're the epitome of modern coin design. This one is one of my all time favourite coin designs and it was the first coin I got when I lived in Italy for a few months. Also one I cherish very much because of the emotional attachment.

This is all for now, thanks for putting up with my spam of my coins, now it'll be a bit slower

I can see the love affair with coins you have, much like me . I collect anything that catches my fancy, as you can tell by any of my posts. That Italian 1914 2 lire is incredible looking to me; I can see why you love it . I don't mind as much photo spamming like this to show and tell as some others might. I enjoy all of your posted coins here.

I have been looking at those Italian 2 lire coins recently and it remains on my unofficial want list. It's a design worthy of a large medal.
