Ok - so I know I am breaking the rules about one coin per post, but hopefully after explaining - it will be ok!! So many boxes of halves ago I found a 1973 D with this weird "leg" on the R in Trust. I chalked it up to PMD and tossed it back. Last night I was searching a box and came across another 1973 D that looked the same as the one months ago. Gave it just a second more of a look and tossed it in the discard pile. Then a few rolls later I found a second one that looks the same in the same box. That peaked my curiosity and I fished the other one back out to compare. They both have the same issue with the R ( I am thinking die crack since it appears raised), but then I got looking and found something interesting with the eye - same issue on both. I put a 1 on all the photos of the first coin and the second coin is not labeled.

What's going on with these? Thanks for the education!

I agree it seems like a die crack or die scratch on that letter R.

Also, we try to discourage posting two unrelated coins in the same thread. You are all good on this one.

The last one is a die clash. You are seeing the reverse image of the olive leaves from the backside of the coin on his nose.

The R is a die break.

Never even saw the die clash on the nose. Thanks!!
Any thoughts on what going on with the eye? Is that a die clash as well? Definitely not like a regular one where you can see well defined eyelids and an eyeball.
