I want to send this coin in for grading but would like opinions on authenticity? It weighs out correct and sigma tester says silver

One of the bestest things you can do for authentication purposes is to head to vamworld.com and go to Morgan vams by date, then there will be a list of all the dates of the Morgan dollar that are links to all the known vams of the series. Select 1893-S, and compare your specimen to all the known vams of the 1893-S in which there are very few. Hope this helps, and hopefully you have a match!

The coin has issues. The date position is not correct for a genuine example.

There was only one obverse die used for the 1893-S, and the date position of this coin is wrong, so it appears to be counterfeit.

Note the odd relationship between the P and the L in PLURIBUS.

I suggest it would be helpful to our new member if our CCF experts can add a few words to support their views, as most of you have.

Just saying ... '100% Fake' does not offer any educational or information exchange value.

Comparative ping tone test against a genuine Morgan would help to prove, either way.

Does it stick to a magnet?

All joking aside, it's hard to be 100% certain without holding it in your hand. Just my 2 cents . .

A close examination of the lettering shapes on all devices shows many irregularities. Clearly a fake.
