1958 Wheat Penny Dual Mint Marks? - Coin Community Forum

I found a 1958 D penny that appears to have an S mint mark stamped sideways under the Liberty. Am I seeing things? I'm including 2 pictures of the obverse in different contrast and one of the reverse just for reference. Thanks so much! Report this Post to the Staff

mrwhatisit Pillar of the Community United States 2955 Posts	Posted 11/16/2021 8:59 pm That is only a very interesting circulation hit, so postmint damage, and a little bit of paridolia (seeing things that are not there). Lincoln's were not struck at the San Francisco mint that year, the last year in the 50s there was 1955, and then they resumed again in 1968, with the memorial reverse. Report this Post to the Staff
