Even with a caveat, why put it up for sale? I contacted them and sent a pic of a Type 1 reverse. Nothing. I wonder what the people that are bidding on it are thinking. SMH

One word, ignorance. The coin will be sent off to PCGS and come back counterfeit. Seller is out their fees, buyers funds will be tied up for months.

My guess is that the auction house has a listing fee and the coin owner pays for the grading cost if counterfeit, so Hi=Bid makes money. The coin owner will be the loser on this one.

Yep it's a bad one for sure, obvious at first glance without blowing up the image even. I've never had any luck bidding on that site, and I've also seen more counterfeit coins and just plain bad deals from dealer terms there over anywhere even ebay, well maybe Facebook, but I only use it to deal with Coin Cube LLC. members (of which I am one as well).

It's also a Type 2 obverse, right?

Wow that's certainly a horrible fake. It's really sad someone is going to pay a whole lot of money for next to nothing.

The way the bidding has gone on items I was interested in, I wouldn't be surprised if some numbnuts that's there live will bid on it. The people that are live bidding seem to have bottomless pockets. The prices being
paid are insane.

I think it may have a reserve on it. I bet it's Passed. There have been a few lots that haven't sold.

You're almost in luck. Daniel Carr minted a 1915-D fantasy coin.
