So I went to my very first coin show I have ever been to, and I had a field day finding all sorts of goodies . Of the 2 Morgans I found, this one stood out and was calling my name... I personally have never seen any Morgan dollar clipped planchets until today. It also has a nice Blaksky effect. Edited by mrwhatisit 11/21/2021 06:53 am

Very nice! It looks like the planchet was very slightly clipped at 180 deg as well.

Didn't Wayne Miller sell a PDS set of 1921 Morgan clips a year or two ago? If it wasn't Wayne, who listed them? I remember them getting some buzz.

Nice find. Isn't the weakness 180 degrees from a clip what is known as the Blakeley effect? The clip is before the rim is upset, so since the mill roller doesn't engage the edge where its clipped well, the opposite side isn't pushed as hard and doesn't get upset right.

It looks like a minor rim Cud at 6:00. Great clip!

Yeah, I am still perusing vamworld.com to pin down the VAM #, and at least I know it is a VAM 3 or above (16 berry, D2 rev.) due to the tiny tail on the F in OF. I'll fill everyone in once I find the VAM. I do agree that the rim Cud next to the clip is a nice bonus .

And these two photos look as if this feature is a strike-thru something and not a scratch as I initially thought...

Nice clipped morgan and it does look like a struckthrough on the E.
