Hello coin community,

Happy Thanksgiving,

1st coin post and I really hope pictures come up with post, lol :).

Thanks again for allowing me to join this wonderful forum.
I feel I already know most of you (so to speak) from a forum standpoint, being I'm always browsing the variety/error posts or a search will direct me to this site. This coin is one I've been trying to figure out for a few years now it really has me stumped/befuddled so thought I should ask you, the folks I see on this forum almost daily for some much needed help/advice. So What do you think?
I believe I see the last (A) in America lower right, and above that to right maybe last (S) in states, and to right of left upper wheat ear maybe another partial wheat ear

Now I know this coin has a few things going on and definitely above my pay grade, how about you,
What do you know about this oddity?
Any help would be very greatly appreciated.
Thanks again:),
Bj

I don't see any heavy damage to the obverse besides normal wear. So I think I'll say it was struck through debris of some sort.
Lets wait until the seasoned experts weigh in.

OH! What is the weight of this coin?

My vote is for this being all attributable to heavy damage. For sure there are discrete areas of damage, such as below BUS. I think that the damage is just all overlapping on the rev.

Thank you; Dearborn, Spence, and CoinHI.

Dearborn the weight is 3.00g.

Error -ref.com, has some impact induced die cracks, bi-level die cracks etc, a few of those errors have kept the teeter on the totter for me.
Hopefully a couple more people will chime in this weekend.
I do know if you are new to the forum do not post on Thanksgiving day:).

Thank you all again for input really appreciated:).

Don't know how it was done, but it's all damage. There is no way this was struck this way.

This very much appears to be heavy post mint damage to me as well. How was it done? I haven't a clue. I don't how it would it would be a minting error, and it doesn't look like a struck-thru either. I am firmly in the PMD camp with this one.

Thanks again everyone,

I guess the verdict is/leaning towards PMD.:), when I posted this I couldn't tell what pic was which having had some practice now I'm going to post a couple angeled pics I didn't post for anyone who might still take a peek before I file this one away.

Thanks again everyone much appreciated.

Well, there ya have it. The coin is lighter in weight that it should be, so I'll bounce back to PMD. Your coin lost some material when the damage was inflicted on it.

Note on the obverse? You can see where the coin was damaged by the flattening on the reverse side of the coin. Note the cheek area? The reverse was showing a weakened design, the obverse would be showing the same thing if this was an issue of the thinned planchet.

Thanks again to everyone for taking the time to help me with this coin I truly appreciate all you do
:)

I would like to correct the fact that I somehow left out that the reverse of this coin area in question is all raised above the field(not incuse),the main reason I've been straddling the fence on "damaged ".

I understand that most incuse coin marks or similar questionable coins are damaged, but I haven't heard/read the same for raised areas on coins.

I hope this correction is not to late, I may need to repost because really need/want to know how this can happen for future coin searches.

Thanks again to all, and please forgive me for perpetuating this coin/post.
