1985 P W/Long Die Crack - Coin Community Forum

allcoinsaregood Pillar of the Community United States 808 Posts	Posted 12/16/2021 3:47 pm Ladies & Gents, found this long Die Crack on thew obverse from the I in IGWT to Lincoln's head thru the hair to the neck. Found a second small Die Crack on the reversae at the lower west end of the memorial(seen this before). Also found the T's, R and S on Trust of IGWT with notches on ends of the letters, however does not match with any doubled dies on wexler or copper coins. So I put up the picts and leave it open for discussion. Regards. Report this Post to the Staff

ijn1944 Bedrock of the Community United States 19201 Posts	Posted 12/16/2021 4:23 pm I believe the reverse die crack is legit. The obverse linear feature has the appearance of a scratch. The obverse also appears to be in the early stage of Die Deterioration, as evidenced by a hint of Die Deterioration Doubling. Report this Post to the Staff
