Found this one today in a roll still hunting for the 1988-D DDO-001. But I'll settle for a rare RPM on an MS 67 coin.

@tb, I can see that northward movement of the mintmark a tiny bit on the top part of the D, but that is pretty subtle. I also see a little bit of split plate doubling. Does that detract from the value of these or is it kinda expected on these?

Yeah, most of these 1980'S zinc RPMs are subtle. But at least this one comes clean across the top as well as the split serif so there is a bit more to see with this one. Split plating is pretty much ignored by PCGS, even on those massive broadstrikes with zinc visible everywhere, so it won't affect the grade just maybe a bit of eye distraction.

RPM's on the zincolns are far and few between, to begin with and always "close", tough to discern, even with the best of examples. That is a nice, modern RPM in fantastic shape, these are not given the credit they deserve, nice find.

Very nice one! Nice 1980's RPM's are very difficult to find in most any condition and this is certainly a blazer. Super clean!

Really nice pickup as we don't see a lot of 80's RPM's.

Nice RPM. If found it is a great find. But your coin has the same issue as mine has on the split plating issue that I have on a another year:
1988-D/D-Lincoln-Memorial-Cent---RPM-006
So if you are buying examples of these, watch out for the split plating issue. I didn't see this on this coin until later on. So watch out for these when buying coins.

Thanks everyone for all the super comments! But geez Coop, it has 0.75mm of split plating, something I noted that does not affect a PCGS grade, so hardly something to watch out for when buying coins and not a major feature of this coin at all.

That said, there actually is a reason to watch out for split plating. Probably half of all the coins from this era sold on ebay listed as RPM actually are just split plating that looks like a secondary D and not an RPM at all. Not that is something to watch out for.
