Huh , this sounds like a roll off of a selling site like ebay, so it might be legit or it may not be legit... Is there any way to possibly send us a picture, or is that not possible? It is not possible to have any knowledge of the date of said CC minted Morgans without looking at the obverse to confirm. What I am envisioning is a roll of 10 Morgans in uncirculated condition with both enders a Carson City mintmark based on your description. If these are legit Morgans, then cool, one can proceed if the price is right, and that could mean anything is possible in said roll... Hope this helps a little !

I'm thinking it's something like these.

Who knows what's inside? What the other side looks like?

Anyone that thinks these rolls haven't been assembled to the sellers advantage should think more about it.
It's probably a poor gamble.
I see the sold rolls are around $1800 to $2000.00.

Thanks. Yes. A friend of mine called to give me info. It's c and collectible network. 1,800.00 for the roll 1879 CC on both ends, not sure if there's anymore, but, they said uncirculated, although, it was opened in 1930?

I strongly doubt the seller would be able to know if the roll was opened in 1930.

I have no experience with buying such high valued rolls, but the advice I can offer is to stay weary. ebay can be a gambit, especially when dealing with something so pricey.

They make these rolls on purpose with those ends. 99% of the time the wrappers are fake and the rest of the coins are commons or culls.

Morgan dollars were never originally stored in rolls. Also take a look at the ends. The two end coins should have heavy toning from being exposed to the sulphur in the paper wrapper for many years.

What does "1979" mean in your post? If that's a typo and supposed to be 1879, or any other date, how would anybody know if only the CC side is visible on the roll ends? These things are always a scam. Nobody in their right mind is going to see "CC" on the end of a roll and not open it to see what the dates are or what else is in there.

These so called original wrapped bank rolls of Morgans Dollars are a huge gamble where the house always wins.

Buying coins sight unseen is not the best way to go. If you want to buy Morgans for investment, go with key dates already slabbed and authenticated. You could always get an album and start filling it in with common dates relatively affordably as well.

Do not gamble on these, I was one of those who got suck into those when I started this hobby, but not Morgan though, paying 5-10x the amount of original cost.

Absolutely, several years back there was a Morgan roll seller that had original rolls form a Carson City bank. The dummy used the same account to sell and buy. I scrolled through a few pages of his bought items and found his purchase of the paper used for these rolls.

They're all a scam....
