Although some of the visible scratches are on the holder, the coin surfaces look scrubbed and abraded. IMO this coin should be in a "problem" holder. I'm not sure which problem would be most appropriate. Scratched, damaged, improperly cleaned, altered surface, and even environmental damage all seem like possibilities. Half eagles contain about 0.24 troy ounces of pure gold so that should determine the baseline value of this piece. Report this Post to the Staff

I am basing this on the CAC sticker, but sometimes CAC does miss. Report this Post to the Staff
