I'm with the frog on this one and it even looked soft surfaces and cleaned at first glance.

AU detail, with negative eye appeal. Although some of the visible scratches are on the holder, the coin surfaces look scrubbed and abraded. IMO this coin should be in a "problem" holder. I'm not sure which problem would be most appropriate. Scratched, damaged, improperly cleaned, altered surface, and even environmental damage all seem like possibilities.

Half eagles contain about 0.24 troy ounces of pure gold so that should determine the baseline value of this piece.

I don't think these are the best photos, just best that I have right now. I won't reveal yet, but I can tell you it is Graded (NGC) and Certified with NO DETAILS.

The lighting in the first set of photos made a grading attempt fruitless.

My guess is that you are going to like the coin, and it is going to be better than the photos as the seller's photos are all over the place. I am basing this on the CAC sticker, but sometimes CAC does miss.

Just shows how misleading photos can be. You're gonna get a really nice coin. CAC can be wrong but almost always because of changes occurring after the assessment.
