Hi everybody, I came across to this 1940-S US Jefferson nickel coin which shows RPM and I would like to request you to have a look to these images and help me with your valuable opinions. With best regards, Habib.
In order for it to be a RPM, it would need evidence of the two separate punches of the punch. There is none of this on your coin. Just evidence of extreme die wear and a hit on the upper serif of the mintmark. There is only one listed on Variety Vista. http://varietyvista.com/05%20JN%20R...0SRPM001.htm Note the evidence to two punch marks on the mintmark.
