OK people a friend asked me to check this out for him. This appears to a Lincoln memorial 81 D cent struck on a Cupronickel dime planchet. The coin in question specks are as follows, 2.26 grams & 18.41 mm in diameter. The diameter is under as a normal penny of this date would be 19 mm. Note the off center strike and edge comparison. So all feed back is welcome. Also maybe one day I will get a better scope for pictures

It is possible (Larger design over a smaller coin):

Even the wrong stock metal has happened:

Even a over strike of a cent on a previously struck dime.

But cents on a dime has happened before:

Looks right to me but I bet these guys are going to want more pictures. I don't think yours show the true color.

The color looks correct to me. It will be the same color as a dime.

This is pretty cool. No red flags to me they say this is fake. Eager to see better pics.

Looks right, although I would love to see it in better lighting as I think the light source is making it look more coppery than I imagine it looks in hand. Congrats on an excellent find!

Yes that is a weird one. If your friend sends it in to be slabbed, please follow up on this thread with their opinion. Thx!
