Wow. I'm lost. I thought 2009 Lincoln EC DDRs was crazy.
I thought I'd try this again and figure out which VAM's I have.
I have 93 Morgan's and 36 Peace all have been recovered from slot machines. Most are pretty wore out. About 20 Morgan's and 10 Peace are in ok shape.
I randomly picked this one out to try first.
At first I thought ok VAM 83. Then it got confusing
Some have this and some don't. Like polished nose, long nock, disconnected leaf and cracks.
I would appreciate some help. What am I doing wrong? Where do I start?
I read all what info VAM World offered for newcomers.

All seven stars to left of date are doubled. First three and fifth star to right are doubled. On reverse there's a fine crack from star next to UNITED all the way around to LLAR of DOLLAR.
Here's a few pictures sorry for the amount.
Thank you for comments. Rob.

The Big VAM Book, otherwise known as the The Comprehensive Catalogue and Encyclopedia of US Morgan and Peace Silver Dollars.VanAllen/Mallis, Arco Press.

The list of VAM's for 1878 was quite extensive as they were still working out the design for the series.

If you're really serious about this, got to go to school . .

True. I was guided to the 1878 VAM attribution guide on VamWorld by one of the VAM Masters on this forum. It's pretty good at narrowing down the vast options for this first edition Morgan. And it's a fun read, too.
