pristine2 Pillar of the Community United States 1048 Posts	Posted 02/02/2022 8:50 pm I like Lincolns a lot when I was a kid, but I sort of lost interest as an adult. How would you assess the grade and value of this coin? How serious is gouge above the date? Why exactly is there such a premium attached to this date? Even though the '09-S VDB gets more attention and has a lower mintage than the '14-D (about 500 thousand vs. 1.2 million), significant numbers of the '09-S VDB cents were quickly saved and put aside resulting in a higher survival rate than the '14-D in the AU and above grades. panzaldi Bedrock of the Community United States 18663 Posts	Posted 02/03/2022 1:18 pm the obverse dies for these can be tricky to determine especially if the coin is not dead on straight. best guess is obv die #2. this is a nice key coin.
