A recent pickup that exceeded expectations! I'm blown away on the eye appeal here. I was thinking possibly delam and struck through but the non linear shape has me doubting that. I'm curious about grading opinions.

Looks like an anatomically correct heart?

Thanks CCF! I don't think I'll acetone it. I know the black marks are taking away from the look but it has some luster remaining and I don't think acetone is necessary here. I doubt acetone will remove the black areas anyways as they seem part of the toning.

I feel it is a struck through of varying depth. Note How most of the ghost images are missing? That is seen more often on a struck though error. What is the weight? That will tell if it was struck through something. (Normal weight) On a lamination the weight will be reduced if part of the planchet fell off of the coin. It is a woody.

Weighs 3.09g so most likely struck through.
