My vote is for it being a die chip on top of the letter D. It extends to the rim, but doesn't really seem to involve the rim. I'm interested if any one will take a contrary position though.

That G chip is a common chip but in a very uncommon place. I've never seen the G filled in this way. It doesn't vary any premium but cool example.

I think they still consider this a die chip because the rim is unaffected. I could be wrong.

OOB-WE chips. They ran these dies until the dies actually died. (common on the 50's wheat cents)

thanks for the input ,I see it has to do with the outer rim more , did like the link but can not find 57d-b475 on any google sites . like to see a photo of what it looks like, for I have rolls of bies (56-57) to look at and Cuds on coins only has 3 listed .To Lawest the rev. on mine has no sings of chips or,cracks on it. And Coop not sure how the die chips have to do with the poormans 55 but I do have bunch of them with die chips and cracks too ! I did see that more then one DDO 55 is listed, and now like 120 bies again thank you .you may see this on ebay
