I found this quarter online that is bu and is triple clipped. Any idea on how much this is worth? I know that the triple clips are pretty rare errors, but I do not know the exact price range. The seller's photos are awful, so sorry in advance.

@123, it's pretty hard to see very much with these pics. Rather than uploading a collage, can you please add one good image of the front and one separate one of the back? Thx.

I do not possess the coin. All of the seller's pics are also bad, so I cannot do anything about it. You can go online and try to find it, but that is the best option right now.

Can't really tell from those pictures if it is genuine or counterfeit. Really need close up pictures of the clips to say for sure. If seller cannot supply better detailed pictures, I would pass on it. There are too many altered coins to make them look like clips out there.

One of most faked errors in coin collecting. Without solid, detailed pics this is a pass.

Yes I agree 100% that this is a pass if the seller won't provide clear closeups. I wouldn't pay more than face value for this coin with the information currently available.

I would pass on this one. The curvature of the clip will match the curvature of the planchet/coin itself. If it were a straight clip from the edge of the formed metal, it will be straight and not curved at all. Even though it appears like a Blakesley effect. that can be faked. If I were looking to buy that one, I would ask for an edge on photo of the 'clips'

Going with what's been presented here, I'd walk away. That's just me.

How much are they asking for it?

It looks decent to me. I'd be eager to see this one in hand. Maybe a picture of the edge would help.

The coin is not perfectly round either. That is impossible if it was inside a collar.

What does the reed edge show? Seems like the reverse side is showing stronger reeds. Is there a partial collar issue?

I do not know. I have not contacted the seller. I agree with you guys about walking away 100% after looking at those pictures of other triple-clipped planchet coins. Thanks!
