1993-D-Fake-RPM-I-Guess-Copper-Didn't-Spread-Right? I am trying to please " THE MAN" by putting whole coin front and back and so-called RPM. SOME POOR OLD SUCKER WOULD FALL FOR THIS ON ebay AS A rpm. Gurus tell me what happened.

Split plating--not exactly a fake RPM. Not uncommon with earlier (80s-90s) zinc core cents.

I'm not a guru, but I agree, looks like split plating pulling away from the devices.

Also it cannot be a RPM as they stopped hand punching the mint marks in 1989.

1989 was the last year for RPM's. 1990 and newer, no more RPM's.

Post 1990 if there is doubling on the mintmark, it would be a doubled die.

But your coin is not one of them. It is as mentioned, split plating.
