I found this in a collection of nickels that I bought in a local vintage store. What do you think? The C in Monticello has a weird blob on it. Sorry, I'm new and don't know the jargon on what it's actually called.

It is an old coin and not in very good shape, but I just thought I would run it by the experts on here! Thank you for your opinions!

Thank you! I haven't seen an error like this in the common errors for this nickel. Is it worth it to have the nickel graded since it has an error like this?

Sorry but a Die Chip is not an error and certainly not worth getting graded.

Clues for die wear. (On the pre single squeeze dies)
1. the fields are showing flow lines.
2. The outside edge near the rims will be weaker/mushy like being distorted.
3. The devices move towards the rims as the die ages even more.
Single squeeze dies with DDD:
1. The fields are affected, not the devices.
2. After this sets in the Ridge Ring is next noted.
