In commemoration of soon reaching 1000 posts am offering this nice crusty Quarter Dollar free free free (postage included) to any forum member with 88 or less postings whom correctly identifies... 1. The Type obverse and reverse. 2. The nickname of its variety - hint, it does not have an Fivaz Stanton listing this baby was recognized long before they were in the variety attribution business. Think think think. Myself? well I might go to the Eric P. Newman Numistic Portal and read up on the mountain of free literature on the Barber quarters series. Good Luck! please, do not post name/address we will work all that out with Mods p.s. John1 Coinfrog grrrrr grrrrr T-bop check out those rims and crusty Whitman toning.

@luv, it looks like you are holding a contest relating to this coin. Therefore, I'm planning to move this over to the contests subforum.

Yup, it appears the limit is 88 posts--only open to those with fewer. Those with less than 88 but more than 80 better watch how frequently they post over the next few days.

I am learning the platform and I get confused, I knew that if I thought I had the answer it was either to easy or I was wrong. But........ I know I am right about the Nickname so what have I missed? Mmmmmm So let me fix. Nickname "Wingtip Beyond 'E' This was a new reverse die type issued in 1900. Which is also known as Type 2 Am I getting close?

Your 1/3 correct you still have 2 steps to go to fully identify and name the variety. Good luck.

Clue...when something doesn't work its what? If you answer this riddle you will have 1/2 the nickname of this variety. Now that's about all the clues I'm giving up and mums the word from here out.
