Hi everyone so on this page under specifications a 2003 D missiouri State Quarter weighs 5.7 grams. I know with different types of clad errors or wear quarters will weigh less then there specs but what makes them weigh more thanks for the comments I have no doubt some one will have a very intelligent answer that explains this!

Since 1965, U.S. quarters have weighed 0.2 ounces (5.76 grams). so yours seems to be a normal weight.

Well within specs. the forming of a planchet is far from exact and perfect, thus is why there is a +- variance that the coin needs to be within. Now if this coin were to be silver, I'm sure that the mint or the producer of the blanks would be more precise.

They don't weight the planchets. (Only on gold ones) They have a tolerance weight for them:
2003-D-Missiouri-State-Quarter-Weight-5.8-Grams
