I don't have a fancy digital caliper..

But with my tape measure it is about 18.5mm

Ok yes the diameter seems pretty normal then. It could have been encased or in a bezel to damage the rims and outer bit of the fields. Think the frog was right!

By the way, I use a brass analog Vernier that measures to the nearest 0.1 mm and cost me about $5. They are more commonly used in the jewelry industry I think.

Best to not remove them from the holders. Why? Because they are just a damage coin when removed. In the holder they are still worth something. Seen several coins damaged in the encasements when removed were damage by squeezing them into the holders.
