I received some helpful advice from this forum and I did a little research on this coin. I think it's a rim to rim die crack...any opinions?

Just a scratch, notice how it stops half way into the lower part of the rim...PMD...IMO...throw it back.

Good clear pictures though...

Edited: to CCF, good luck on future finds have fun and keep asking when needed.

Thanks for taking time to start a new thread and get some clearer pics for us. Unfortunately the guys were right about it being damage. As stated above, keep it up and ask for help.

It has a trench and two sides where the metal was moved to a new location:

On a die crack the crack is on the die, leaving a void and the void will show as a raised line:

You coin was cut with a knife. Intentional damage to a coin is not a mint error. Just a face value coin now.

too perfectly straight to be a crack, a deep scratch will pile up the metal to one side giving the appearance that it is raised instead of incuse.
