Can't really tell what's going on with the beard with the pics but there looks to be a lot of plating disturbances with this coin, which may be the cause of what you are seeing.

This coin could be showing a lot of plated on zinc dust on this one planchet, while other coins from the same dies, will not show the same thing. No premium for the plated over zinc dust. It would be a planchet issue, not a doubled die.

Thank you I've just never seen the beard with that much detail in hair.

Agree, platting issues with earlier zinc core cents (80s-90s) can cause some very interesting texturing.

Just chiming in here to compliment you on way-above average pictures, especially that close-up of Abe.

The damage of your coin it is the plating problem who make the coin go away from collectors. The rest: how you say for the details it is because was a brain new die really damage..

I agree, Spence. Your pics are very good, Tracy_04 but what you gave us on the full coin shots where hard for me to tell anything out of the norm, short of the plating issues, which I think have accentuated what you may be seeing but good eye. As Spence has said, good pics, much better than we usually get to try to help folks figure out what they have.

with above. Looks like there was an issue with the planchet prior to plating.
