The 'vise job' give away is reversed characters (numbers/letters). Not a mint error.

to the CCF Definitely damage as that would have occurred after the coin was struck.

Vise job of some sort, but having trouble identifying the sort-of normal looking "4" near the rim. to the CCF!

Post mint damage, intentional or accidental doesn't really matter, damage is damage.

Looks like a vise job with a 64D Lincoln Cent. Can't tell if there is an RPM or not.

After looking at a 64D, the numbers are not right for that year, the 9,6 or 4. Don't think it's dropped letter though, just for that reason. Not sure. Another denomination?

sure looks like a 1964 in reverse to me. I think I'll compare the real '64 to these as well.

After looking again, it looks pretty good for a 64D cent. I guess you can't expect perfection with a garage job.

Thank you for all the welcomes. My dad and I have been collecting for quite a while but just to collect, we haven't paid much attention to looking for errors. As age crept up, eye sight got worse and I quit collecting, even magnifiers didn't help. Just had a friend show me their digital microscope and WOW.... jumped back in with both feet. I have some catching up to do. Thank you for all the input and research done to explain this coin to me.
