. Some type of PMD=post mint damage. Maybe a vise job.

The 'vise job' give away is reversed characters (numbers/letters). Not a mint error.

Definitely damage as that would have occurred after the coin was struck.

Thanks for the input, I recently acquired three gallons of wheats, came across this one and wasn't sure.

More food for thought. The impression of the numbers and or orientation of, may suggest more. Thanks, Doug.

Vise job of some sort, but having trouble identifying the sort-of normal looking "4" near the rim.

Post mint damage, intentional or accidental doesn't really matter, damage is damage.

Looks like a vise job with a 64D Lincoln Cent.

Can't tell if there is an RPM or not.

After looking at a 64D, the numbers are not right for that year, the 9,6 or 4. Don't think it's dropped letter though, just for that reason. Not sure. Another denomination?

sure looks like a 1964 in reverse to me. I think I'll compare the real '64 to these as well.
The font is wrong, it looks like an older font but that does not make sense....

After looking again, it looks pretty good for a 64D cent. I guess you can't expect perfection with a garage job.

Thank you for all the welcomes.
My dad and I have been collecting for quite a while but just to collect, we haven't paid much attention to looking for errors. As age crept up, eye sight got worse and I quit collecting, even magnifiers didn't help.
Just had a friend show me their digital microscope and WOW.... jumped back in with both feet. I have some catching up to do.
Thank you for all the input and research done to explain this coin to me.
