I wanted to know what everyone thought about this 2002 Indiana State Quarter if it's missing clad and if you thought it might have any value to it.

One afternoon my husband was jingling coins in his hand, and the more he jingled the coins, the more I thought there is a coin that just didn't sound normal, so I asked him if I could see the coins. Upon viewing the coins I discovered a quarter that looked unusual and very different from the rest. He had just gotten in the change from his purchase at the gas station that afternoon.

I thought I would share it with all of you and see what others might think about it. It sure caught my interest. I don't know if it's real or not but if it isn't, it makes for a neat coin for a collection if you were collecting coins.

I described the picture of everything I found to be wrong or thought to be an Error. The most obvious is the missing clad on the reverse side. I don't know the terminology for everything just yet and this is my first post so please bear with me, I don't know much about coins yet. I'm still learning, so if you happened to notice something I've missed please let me know, as it helps me to understand more.

i see gritty areas so possible damaged also missing letters are due to being struck in grease. On the rim it could be a little Rim Fin.

The weight should be a bit lighter than normal. But looks like the real deal to me.

Looks right, definitely weigh it. Weak lettering on the obverse would be because of the missing clad layer on the reverse causing the planchet to be thin.

The weight wood confirm that it is missing clad layer. Nice find.
