Hello everyone, this is NOT my coin, but one that I saw for sale online. The grade surprises me, but I wondering what the experts here thing. How would you grade this? You can easily find it for sale online--but that would ruin the fun. Thanks!

I am not an expert with these by any means but I think it is fun to take a stab at it using PCGS photograde. I see it as VF-30. Curious what the real experts will say.

I'm at XF45, could see them calling it AU50 though.

I'm having a real difficult time trying to grade this coin. Part of it is my inexperience with the draped bust series. I only have two draped bust coins in my collection (Cent and Half Cent). Both are low grade. Looking at this coin and comparing it to PCGS photograde, I am getting confused at some of the details. Perhaps some strike weakness on this coin. I am looking at the reverse tail feathers and the breast and banner showing signs of wear consistent with PCGS VF 30-35. I look at the obverse and I see flatness in the hair detail on the middle of the head and behind the head which looks consistent with PCGS VF-35. But there is also some original luster present on this coin. This is a tough one for me to try to hone my grading skills on.

Soft strike on center. The wing tips show a little wear on reverse. The bust shows very little wear, but some wear on shoulder. I am at XF40/45. The coin is not showing any luster, so it should not make AU.

XF-45, maybe a stretch to AU-50.
Suffering from bust half fever.

This looks like more wear than AU(50) should have. And it CACed? I honestly believe auction houses get more sympathetic grades when they submit coins...

It is not my coin. I am convinced that the bean and the grade itself are the result of an auction house sending it in, not a private collector/dealer.
