Found them in an old mint bag I used to throw stuff in back in the early 70s. Forgot about them and now I am wondering how to store them in the safe. What should I do with them? end penny is only a 39-s. Can't see anything else.I do not know If I should open them or not.

Those are very cool; I would wait until some more experienced people on here have their opinions, as I am not good at storing coins.

Of course it is totally up to you if you want to see what is in these rolls. If they were mine, Id want to carefully open these to see if there are any surprises in them, like MS-67+ blazing color/red uncs, and or just a nice mix of pre 1940 Lincolns with nice possible varieties.

Are they all shot gun rolls?
If they are then I would carefully open to see what is in there.
I have put rolls into the plastic tubes to store.

What choice do you really have? It's really not a big deal. Just open them. to the CCF!

. I would open them and save the tubes, people do collect coin wrappers. If you do not want to open them, then put them in plastic tubes. If you do open them, please let us know what you find like errors or varieties as well as any high grade ones. Good luck. John1

I would open them. Do not let the next person satisfy their curiosity when you can now.

They have been obviously opened before, so go for it.

I would open just one roll . See what it contains .If they are mixed dates then open the other two . But if the one roll are all the same date and mint and are all red uncs put the other two rolls in plastic nickel tubes , leave wrappers intact . I'm betting on they could be OBW's .

No mystery , they are rolls distributed through the Federal reserve system . In this case San Francisco. Very common and part of the roll bag craze of the 1950s 1960s era. Looks like they have already been opened and searched .

I really don't believe they were opened before because the ends are a little moved but that is because the bag they were in rolled them around. The pennies in the roll are really tight. If I were to take them out I would have to tear the wrapper apart because they are so tight in the roll. I guess I could open up one and save two. If I was smart enough I would take a video of opening one roll. I am too pessimistic that I won't find anything good. All the rolls of wheat pennies I saved up throughout my years and I still haven't found a 1943 copper. They are full rolls and not shotgun.

Ok you people got the best of me. I had to open one roll and here is what I got. I listed the mint marked ones in the pictures down below. 34,37,37,35,35,35,35,36,36,38,38,18,17,10,30,30,25,29,39,39, Then the ones with mint marks are 30d,34d,37d,25s,19s,18s,25s,17d,17s,35s,17d,37s,25s,47s,48s,34d,37d,35s,44s,47s,48s,52s,51s,54s,54s,54s,54s,53s,53s,51s. I guess I came out ok. I don't think I had any chance of getting a 09s. I guess it was worth it.
