Hello friend's, I'm needing your help with this 1964 penny. It has three tails on top of the six on the date. What do you guys thank? Is this a error or?

Hmm that looks more like a well-placed hit that has damaged that number 6. Let's see what others think.

I agree. The metal missing form the void at the top of the 6 is what makes the extra tail further down. Post mint damage.

Not an error, just damage. Spend it.

Agree--post-strike damage. A hit taken in circulation.

Thank you guys. I see them overlapping each other. Pretty crazy. I think I will keep it just in case.

sure looks like it took a hit above the 6 and moved the metal south a little bit.

And look at how the bottom of the six seems to keep going in a spiral?

If you can explain how this could happen during the striking of the coin, then it is an error. If not, then no matter how it happened, even if you never find out, then it is damage.

Looks like some of the devices were moved a bit or there was a lamination issue on that area of the coin. If something appears on just one coin, then that would be damage to the coin, not a new variety.
