Is this a die crack or chip? Does it bring a premium?

Looks like die chips to me. Not sure this coin is worth over face value though.

What about this one. This is a second coin where the die has worn down more starting to make the chips appear better.

Looks pretty similar to me. Die chips, unless extensive, by themselves rarely seem to add to the value of a coin.

Die chips unless excessive are too common to add any value.
Don't forget that there could be thousands out there with those same chips
progressing after each strike.

These are the kind of inconsequential things people are finding all the time now that microscopes are so inexpensive.

If you want to find collectable errors, it is best to identify what a collectable error is. You can start by going to varietyvista.com and finding pictures of actual doubled dies and RPMs. also spending a lot of time at error-ref.com and browsing the types of errors will really help.

COULD NOT AGREE MORE!!!!!!!!!!!
In reality, every coin is a variety of the first coin struck from every die. With each strike of the die it wears a little. Ever so minutely, it is still wearing down. Even the weight of each planchet varies, ever so minutely, but no two pieces are perfectly identicle. My 2 cents'.................
