This coin is part of a lot I'm looking at. These are the best pics I can provide. On the obverse I inserted an arrow toward some notation that seems to be unusual. Does this ever appear on an authentic example of this coin? [ ADDED: Looks like a reeded edge. I guess that means fake.]

It's the designer's name.
The coin is likely a fake made to imitate a valuable pattern coin.

There are a few legitimate Chinese patterns made by Italian engraver L Giorgi. (May have got the spelling wrong)

These are excessive rare and rarely appear in the market.

You can see the lettering more clearly in the original post. Definitely looks way off. I also think the piastre is questionable, though seller says he brought it back from Viet Nam.
