Seems like struck through gritty grease or perhaps a planchet flaw. It does not appear to be damage to me.

Some. Maybe just let us know what you are attributing this to be. We can add links afterward if appropriate. Thx.

Sure looks like a gritty grease struck through. Nice location for it too.

That's a nice strike thru some gritty grease there. We've been seeing a lot of these on 2021 pennies and also on quarters as well the new 2022 actually. Field restricted strike thrus that's what most of them are Great find and a keeper haven't seen one that long yet

Nice find. It's like the Tuskegee Airmen burning building quarter - Struck Through Grease that seems to have been one the feeder finger so keep getting smeared on the dies over and over. Restricted field strike through is what I've heard it called.

Looks like fingerprints on the reverse, you might want to use some 100% pure acetone not standard nail polish remover to get rid of them especially if those are your prints. The longer the prints are on a coin the less chance you have to get rid of them, they become permanent. The only way to remove them then will damage the coin. John1

Done a search for 2021 coin errors. Found a coin with same damage, but lower. In my pic you can see there damage was repaired, in there pic you can see where my damage is starting.......Just have to see the pic.

well the strike thru you linked is completely different then yours. Different area struck thru grease that's all. You'll see a lot of varying ones on 2021 cents

Guess what I am trying to show between the two pennies is. Showing progression of something happening. The one in the article shows what looks like a die crack from the lip. The damage in mine is the same place. Just wanting to share.
