Found this dime...I think it is a 2000 but not positive... Can I get some opinions on what this is... It's thicker than normal and the copper is on the reverse side of the rim...

Of the 2 dime edge coin, which one is the thicker one? A normal one or the one you are asking about?

The thicker one is the one I'm asking about and also, on a normal dime the copper edge is on the obverse (heads) side but this one it's on the reverse(tails) side.

Awesome coin. Long story short two dimes got struck one on top of another. This being the bottom one. That isn't the full explanation, you can find that here.

Under capped die strike I think.

Looks like a deteriorating die cap. Note how the cap is thinning and more of the obverse design is coming through on the struck through area.

I took a couple more pictures comparing it with another dime. Can you tell me which it is that causes the copper rim to be opposite of normal?
