I am wondering if this 1895 Barber dime is an O or an S mintmark.

@cal, can you please post a closeup of the mintmark? With the current overall pics, it looks most like the top of a letter S to me.

It's too small, too low, and too far left to be an O. Even on F02 examples on PCGS and Heritage the mint mark is still distinctly O. I'm not entirely convinced that there's an S there either.

Whatever it is, it lines up dead center on the line from the left serifs of the "M" in DIME, through the center fold of the ribbon, and the center of the whatever. That's exactly correct for either mm.
This one may be just a hair too far gone to attribute the mm, which would knock out a grade. Both are challenging depression-era coins, but the 1895-O obviously is a prize in any grade. I just don't see enough right now to call it a New Orleans coin. That does seem to be a mm, so 1895-S is the default here.
I echo the call for a high resolution closeup.

Here's the best I could do with OP image, PCGS FR02 on left. @fortcollins, seems like you're aligning a different ghost image than what I see is supposed to be the top of a mint mark. What I see is aligned way left of the ribbon knot, and I'm not convinced that it's anything.

Looking at closer pics, I think you're right about it being an S. Funny enough the Philadelphia is worth more than the S but not as much as the O.

Wow this one is impossible with the pictures imo. It could be possible it's an old contact Mark and the displaced metal has worn down with the rest of the coin.

I'm sorry for the kinda crummy photos, I'll try to take a photo of the reverse with my phone but I'm worried the pic won't do the coin justice.

I see no persuasive evidence of any MM or the lack of one so far.
