There were only three Kennedy halves in the big lot of coin envelope coins I bought, but one turned out to be quite interesting. This is a pair of pre Cuds one touching the other that is unlisted. I just submitted images to JC for consideration. 1971-D Kennedy half dollar die event - two pre Cuds

Yeah, many, many hundreds of cents as far as the eye can see here, and I post a half. But only about a week left before I'm gone for about a month so trying to organize and clear some of this stuff and a loose half has no home so had to submit it and card it so it can end up in the Cud files. Make cents?

nice double die crack. I wonder if it became a Cud with the first larger crack that the rest broke off later....

Great find! Cannot be too common.
I went through an awful lot (understatement) of 1971-Ds when roll searching for a couple of years and never saw one. I specifically paid attention to the 71-D as this coin is known for a decent clash as well as RPMs and DDOs.

Thanks all! And I also suspect this thing is pretty rare. But it's also fairly small and nondescript to the naked eye so could be missed by casual searchers.

Looks like two cracks and a die chip. Not affecting the rim gutter yet. If it were a Cud, it would be raised taller on the coin. So far this hasn't happened yet.
