This is not a coin I actively search for, but maybe should. Of all the 1969-D coins I actually have looked at for the FG, this is the first one that truly is fully without the initials. Sometimes they are faint, but there is some raised portion and you could at least tell they were there. This one, however, has absolutely no sign of the initials, so I am calling it good.

The reason I've not looked for it is because it was removed from the CherryPickers' Guide as really just overpolishing of the die in this area which is really common for this date. Just seemed like not worth the time to find. But when looking up images to research this one, I see that in 2020 a PCGS slabbed example in MS65RD sold for $192. That means while I don't find them interesting, some people still do, so nipping a good one from a BU roll would seem to pay off, if PCGS still will put that on the label.

Interesting, I've come across plenty of really faint FG's but none completely gone. Nice find, I'll have to put that back on my radar.

pretty nice find TB. absolutely no sign of the initials here. A very good die polishing job for the technician at the mint.

I can see a faint FG follow the green dot next to building then the second black dot is on the F.

Pretty easy to see what you want to see sometimes, but this one is a no FG. Probably not that important either way, as at least some of the slabbed examples I found with images had a pretty obvious remnant FG so seems I'm being tougher on it than the TPGs were.

I recollect that in 2017 a PCGS slabbed example in MS65RD sold for $505.00. In my opinion, multiple dies exhibit the same issue(s). Here is a MS66RD example. Note the mint mark location(s). More to follow as needed. Thanks, Doug.

Edit: Adding link. Also I believe attributions stopped long ago.

Many years ago. Within weeks. One collector had some slabbed and he sold them, sent a second batch and PCGS quit slabbing them. Some cashed in, but soon the free ride was over.
