Decided to go through my old 82's & found a nice Rim Fin on the west side! I know I'm 99.9% sure it's nothing but, his chin looks a little off as well. #129488;The coin is in surprisingly good shape! 82's always intrigued me, I've kept everyone I've ever found. I guessed I just always assumed the Rim Fin, would somehow alter the reverse too, but I'm not seeing it here. Any thoughts, tips, or info greatly appreciated! P.S. Do rim fins increase the collectibility, or value? Either way it's not going back in that Mason Jar!!! 🤷 #127996;#8205;#9794;#65039;#129318;#127996;#8205;#9794;#65039;

It is a minor Rim Fin and has no added value. The chin looks like it took a hit from circulation. The obverse Rim Fin would not affect the reverse because two separate dies are used to mint the coin along with a collar die.It is a spender.

@dan, yes that looks like a good example of a Rim Fin. Certainly saving this until an even better example comes around is fine—the cost of ownership is low.

Agree with the above. And, that feature on Abe's chin appears to be a circulation hit.

Incuse mark on the jaw is just damage to the coin. 99% of incuse marks on coins are damage. Contact from other coins. I think coins get a lot of 'Roller Derby" damage just doing their jobs.
