Hi, I found this neat looking coin Wow looking through a couple rolls today. What I need to know is if it's legit or someone was just having fun. Any and all input would be greatly appreciated. If you could take an extra close look at the tea on the reverse I'd be interested to see what you say about that. I have a '70s quarter where Washington looks like he just has tiny scratches all over him but it is very smooth.

drag an undamaged cent along some concrete and you'll wind up with something similar

for future reference, smaller pictures with better sharpness will get you more replies

Yes this was someone having fun—not a mint error.

It didn't leave the mint looking this way. Post mint damage, either intentional or accidental.

Thanks to all. Strange because I got a A penny straight from the mint with not nearly with as much damage. Yet still the bronzish tone missing on some raised areas leaving it that steel color. This was a 2022. Guess somebody was bored?

I didn't have access to a grinding wheel as a kid, so we used hammers or left them on train rails. Why we did this, I have no idea.
