Just wanted to do some show and tell. I occasionally pick up love tokens, but not usually Seated dimes. Since they are very common, something has to stand out to make me want to buy them. This set of three Seated dime love tokens came in the mail today in a sealed flip labeled 1980 Garden State Auction. These have probably been sealed in the flip since 1980! Each of these are at least AU-58, likely low mint state. I cut them out of the flip immediately, so they could take a swim in acetone. There was a lot of residue cooking up in the sealed flip. I had a hard time capturing the full luster, so I took a few extra photos. #1: 1889 "KB"    #2: 1888 "Blanche"    #3: 1888 " LMC" (For the Lincoln Memorial cent Lovers!) Awesome grouping! I'm a big love token fan. I rarely see any that look that nice. Congrats.

Having provenance going back several decades like this is always nice—be sure to record that info on the 2x2s or whatever storage holder you use moving forward. Of the three, KB is my fave. I really like the stippling around the edge.

Cool coins (or they coins now?) I guess token is more fitting.

Thanks to all for your opinions. The "Blanche" is my favorite, because of the engraving style, and the attractive toning on the obverse. I purchased a neat 1776 8 Reales love token the other day, I may have to post that one too. Quote:

Times were better back then, gas was cheap, I was graduating HS that year.. Ahh.. the memories.. |

At points, the "i" overlaps the "D" and the "B". There's overlapping at other points in general....I think it reads I. D. B based on what overlaps the most..lol. I think the 1844 engraved is a1842 quarter but I can't say for sure. The carving marks at the date seem to perhaps make it a smaller date coin as such in the 1840s and not the 1850s. Having a Love Token with both the obverse and the reverse of the coin is hard to find.....or hard to find for me at least...that's why I purchased that 1844 engraved Love Token. Yours are wonderful though.

How neat! It is cool to find one that you can actually gift someone. Gold love tokens are surprisingly somewhat common, especially for the cost back then. Beautiful quarter eagle!

I didn't really put 2/2 together lol, I figured it was a modern price but it seems to be under the mylar so if in 1980 1.20 definitely sounds more realistic, also very cool show and tell with the love tokens on this thread, some of them are pretty cool with great craftsmanship.
