Hello

I am thinking om investing in 3 2006-2008 Silver Eagle, West Point Mint, Early Release, MS69 grade for 339.00. Is this a good buy and will it be a good investment to have in my future? I thought 339.00 was a bit much for 3 coins that is why I need to know if this buy will be a good idea? Please help :)

I think it is overpriced. You should be able to get the 3 of them for less than $200 assuming you are talking about NGC early release.

I am no expert on ASE coins but that price look very high to me. The 2006 W can run $120 to $140 if it is spot free but the 2007 and 2008 coins are readily available for $25 to $45. The 2008 with the 2007 reverse runs over $400.

I hope this buy is not on TV[coin shows] They are always higher. If you will read about.com, they warn about buying from them.

Run away if these offers are from TV

Plus, for $340 you can get a full roll of 20 2009s. They're just bullion but at least you're getting more for your money.

Send a 2006 W early release, a 2007 W early release, and a 2008 W Early release to NGC and ask for them to be reholdered into a multi-coin holder.

Honestly I think American eagles are one of the modern bullion coins that you should buy ungraded. Most of them are in great shape right out of the tube and would be a 67 to 70. The non-tubed mint packaged eagles are normally even in better shape. I can not say I do not have one or two early release eagle slabs ..lol but if I could go back I probably would have just bought them raw. It will save you money instead of paying the overpriced slabbed ones, but that is just my opinion. :)

I think that early release is just a money gimmick. I will not pay any more for them.
