@edc, first welcome to CCF. Second, it looks like some details were not fully struck up on this cent, most likely due to there being grease in the die. Are there any similar areas on the rev?

Thank you very much. I've been at it for about 1yr & have run across a couple of fascinating coins not sure if they're anything though. I believe I have a 1988 Wide AM also. These are pics of the reverse of the 199?

First of all: the ghost penny is nothing. The TPG stop to certify this due to the frequency, so it is no more considerate as an error or variety.. Second part: could be some grease involved

1st coin is a minor Greaser. The 1988 is normal for the year.

but Please try to save your images to your computer and upload the actual picture not a screen shot - screen shots are pixelated and sometimes hide details.

wrong. This is a 1991 cent. (note the third image, you can see the top of a '1'. Note the jaw. The 1990-1992 had that beard type:
