If it was real you shouldn't post it on any forum or anywhere. Because if it was real, the government would demand it back and you just lost millions.

to the CCF!

The date looks very primitively tooled. Take a look at the article on PCGS https://www.PCGS.com/News/1964-d-Pe...Really-Exist

As noted by hfjacinto, a real example of this coin would not be legal to own. The government owns the coins struck by the mints until they are released for circulation.

In 2005 the Langbord family revealed that they had ten 1933 $20 Gold Double Eagles. These coins were never issued just as the 1964-D Peace dollar was never issued.

The ten gold coins were seized and the Langbords fought for several years to retain ownership, but in the end a judge declared the coins were property of the United States of America.

There are a few other coins like this that may or may not be legal to own because they were never issued for circulation. The 2000 Golden Dollar / Quarter mule is one and may be subject to seizure in the future.

the OP and coin are a bit safer from prosecution in Canada, but this is almost certainly a fake, though sharper pics might help

You can find copies on ebay and other places. Go to ebay and type in, "1964 Peace dollar." Since the mint never released the ones they made, and have said they destroyed all of them, replicas exist.

Replica and a fairly bad one at that .
The date is all wrong for starters.
Be interesting to see what this XRFs at ?
Is it even silver ?
Is it possible that real ones do exist , yes almost a
certainty, since many had an opportunity to acquire one
during a very short time frame in May of 1965 .
Prime candidates would include high ranking members of
Congress , the Adams estate or other mint workers
or officials .
Too bad the Mint did not send a couple to the Smithsonian
like the 1933 Double Eagles . Those we now know have a
population of at least 13 total pieces .

This isn't almost certainly a fake, it is a fake without a doubt.
