this is the second one but I have a 1951 D penny I was wondering what would cause this and if its an error what would it be worth

Toning or staining of some kind, just the results of where and how the coin has been stored.

Yes that surface staining is not a mint error but rather due to environmental or chemical exposure.

It is not an error. You can be pretty sure that it was a shiny copper colour when it left the mint
Just some sort of environmental damage, copper can change many colours depending on what it was exposed to.

Agree with the above. I've come across several dozen similar looking wheat cents overs years of coin searching. Worth a few cents--if that.
