This looks like there was a previous clash that was polished out before this event. It is a small area affected but strong enough to transfer the "Y" in LIBERTY into bay #2 so I thought it worth sharing.

Nice find, it definitely seems to line up to me even without an overlapped image, also looks quite strong.

I agree part of a clash:
1968-D-LMC-Clashed-Dies
1968-D-LMC-Clashed-Dies
1968-D-LMC-Clashed-Dies
You can see the 'Y' on the top of bay #2. So the die may have been rotated at that point:
1968-D-LMC-Clashed-Dies
Note where the 'Y' should be?

Rotated Clock wise would put the jaw in a different location:

Nice clash! never would have seen the 'Y' if you hadn't turned the image over. Also it looks like the back of Lincoln in bay 3

Thanks gang! this was a fun find. Yes Petespockets, I should have noted that it is a double clash. Strange that it is confined to this small area though isn't it?
