I like this one--although it's not what I originally imagined for my type set to represent the whole series, I like that the date is NOT the most common in the series, and I like the die cracking and clashing (you can see it especially strongly on the reverse). With the exception of the Seated dollar with the motto (not in a big hurry to get this one--waiting for the perfect one in a 61-62 holder with a decent appearance to emerge on the market) and the Presidential dollars and later, this is the last coin I needed for my USA silver/clad dollar type set.

That's a beautiful coin...tempted to go with AU...but realistically solid EF-45.

That would be a dream coin for me! XF-45 but AU wouldn't surprise me on this one.

Why would you want to get a Seated dollar in MS-61 or -62 condition? Why not a very nice AU-58(+)? I would think that AU-58 would be more pleasing than a lower Mint State coin.

@NumisEd, I am thinking a low 60s proof one, with some nice coloring. I usually don't have any issues with AU(58) coins.

agreed. almost always a decent AU58 is better than a low MS.

You guys nailed this one. I like it a lot for a 40--it looks better than some 45s I have seen.

Thanks, Panzaldi. My slab photos are usually just with my iPhone. I try. As for this coin, I feel like I snagged one that looks VERY good for a 40.
